Foxcraft #2: The Elders – cover reveal!

Apr 17, 2016

Hello readers!

Here it is, the absolutely stunning cover for The Elders, the second installment of the Foxcraft series. It was revealed on Scholastic’s On Our Minds blog this week, together with my illustrations for three new crafts: shana-sharm, pashanada and *shivers* pleaching.

The alluring cover conjures up the magic and mystery of the Wildlands. When I was thinking through the series – before I’d written a single word – I already knew that each book would take place in a new location. Red foxes are incredibly adaptable. These stunning, inquisitive animals can be found as far south as Australia and as north as the Arctic Circle.

To find out more about Foxcraft: The Elders, take a look at the blog, which includes a short interview with me. I can’t wait for the book to come out in the fall, I really hope you like it!

Happy reading,

x Inbali

Foxcraft. Книга 1. Зачарованные

Mar 6, 2016

Book 1 of the Foxcraft series is out in Russian with Azbooka. Зачарованные is my first book to be published in beautiful Cyrillic text and I couldn’t be happier!

The book is available to purchase via Azbooka’s website or at all good Russian bookshops http://azbooka.ru/book/24640.shtml

May the spirit of the fox be with you!

Celebrate Foxcraft at Waterstones Finchley Road

Feb 23, 2016

Come and join me at Waterstones Finchley Road O2 Centre on Friday 4th March between 3.30 and 4.45pm. I’ll be there signing books and chatting about Foxcraft in honour of World Book Day 2016. World Book Day itself is on 3rd March, but the whole week is a riotous festival of reading, and that celebration comes to a head at Finchley Road on the Friday! There’ll be foxy competitions running all day in store, and a chance to win a fox. A REAL FOX! Maybe. I’d love to see you there ☺

Please see the link for more details: https://www.waterstones.com/events/foxcraft-publication-celebration/london-finchley-road-o2-centre-12567

Foxcraft The Elders

I’m excited to reveal that book 2 of the Foxcraft series has a name, and that name is The Elders. The story follows Isla as she leaves the Great Snarl for the Wildlands in search of her family. Maybe the mysterious Elders can help her – but she’ll have to find them first…

And here’s the proof – or the proofs, as publishers call them – the typeset version of the book all ready for final checks and tweaks before it goes to the printers. Can’t wait for Foxcraft: The Elders to be out in the world!

I’ll be chatting with the awesome Tui T. Sutherland – fellow Erin Hunter and all-round fantastic author – on her Wings of Fire MB tomorrow evening, 6.30pm EST. I met Tui last year at Book Expo America, where we were on a panel about magical animals. It was so much fun! Tomorrow, we’ll be talking all about the dragonets of destiny and fearless foxes! See the link for more info. Come by and say hi 🙂

Celebrating the series launch of Foxcraft

Oct 31, 2015

This week I celebrated the launch of Foxcraft: The Taken with my fabulous publishers. Scholastic organised a party at Waterstones Islington, featuring delicious foxy cake. Guests donned fox badges and voted on which type of fox magic they would select as their special power. I was torn between slimmering (invisibility) and wa’akkir (shapeshifting). Which foxcraft would you choose?

Here are a few highlights, mostly documenting the cake!

Mmm did I mention that the cake was DELICIOUS?

Happy author at book launch!

UK cover reveal

Jul 28, 2015

It’s official: we have a UK cover for Foxcraft 1: The Taken, and it’s a beauty. The British edition will be published by Scholastic simultaneously with the US edition this autumn. Interesting to see how the US and British publishers have interpreted the story. Both covers feel very true to the spirit of Isla’s quest and the mysterious magic she discovers along the way. You can see all the covers so far on the Foxcraft page.
